Women defeat Furman, Elon

Hyson scores 14 on Senior Night as Spartans defeat Furman 60-49

The Spartans returned home after a two-game road trip Tuesday night to host the Furman Paladins, on Senior Night at Fleming Gym. The Spartans held a pre-game ceremony for seniors Lakiah Hyson, Dee Corbett, and manager India Lewis. Juniors TaShama Banner and Agne Girstautaite were also honored, as they are seniors academically. The Spartans came into the game trying to snap a ten game losing streak. Their last win came on Jan. 13 against Elon. The Paladins were also in the midst of a long losing streak, having lost their last eight games. Full story

Baseball sweeps Albany to stay undefeated at home

Greg Smith earned his first win of the season after throwing five innings of four hit ball, and only allowing one run in the Spartans 8-4 Friday night victory over the University of Albany. Student diagnosed with Tuberculosis

In a Feb. 24 campus wide e-mail, Chancellor Brady announced that a UNCG student had been diagnosed with signs and symptoms of active tuberculosis (TB). Symptoms of TB include unexplained tiredness and fever, weight loss and a recurring cough, usually lasting more than three weeks.

UNCG launches three-year degree initiative

UNCG in 3 is a new program that will allow highly-motivated students to graduate in just three years, beginning fall 2010. It is designed to accommodate the growing number of high school seniors who will enter the university with 12 or more transferable college credits earned through Advanced Placement (AP), UNCG iSchool, or other early college programs.
