Juicy and fresh = Hobbes Chicken Fingers

It's no surprise that there is a new restaurant on the seemingly ever-changing Tate Street, however Hobbes Chicken Fingers could have some staying power.

Hobbes Chicken Fingers embodies a new concept in the restaurant business that focuses on selling one specialized product. Think: a taco stand that only sells really super yummy tacos and nothing else. Two partners from the northern area of the country own Hobbes, and this is their first location down south. They explained to me that they were in the barbeque business and saw businesses like Hobbes being very successful on college campuses in their towns. It was always their dream to open up a similar concept down south.

What makes Hobbes different from any other chicken fingers you ask? Hobbes emphasizes fresh chicken that is made to order as opposed to the typical frozen varieties.

"Everyone is so used to the tasteless, frozen chicken that we get from fast food restaurants that we forget what 'real' chicken is supposed to taste like," says freshman Caroline Hughes. Forget overly-salted chicken nuggets that have been sitting under a heat lamp, the chicken at Hobbes is fresh and juicy with a unique blend of spices and peppery flavor accompanied by their signature Hobbes sauce.

This is the perfect restaurant for the indecisive. There are very few choices on the menu; the only differing items are the amount of strips you can get and whether or not the customer wants slaw as a side, which pretty much takes the guesswork out of it. And if you get tired of diner food in the wee hours of the morning, Hobbes will also be open late Thursday through Saturday until 3:00 a.m. Be sure to stop in try some chicken for yourself!
