On Saturday Nov. 1, legendary hip-hop artist Jay-Z and equally iconic Russel Simmons, the brains behind Def Poetry and Def Comedy Jam and a hip hop force in the late 1980's visited the campus of North Carolina A&T university to help get out the vote.

They addressed a crowd of around 1,000 people and pleaded with them to not only early vote, but early vote for Sen. Barack Obama.

This caps off a campaign in which many actors and actresses, such as Kal Penn from Harold and Kumar, Harold Perienneau from Lost and stars from "Grey's Anatomy and Everybody Loves Raven.

This is a first for North Carolina because democrats are trying their best to turn this very red state blue this presidential election cycle and they count of the youth vote to come out in droves for Barack Obama.

"Four out of five internationals who follow the U.S. presidential campaign want Obama to get elected" said Russel Simmons to cheering.

This is the last visit by a celebrity to the triad in what has become a whirlwind of a campaign for North Carolina since mid-April.
