The last few years, the SoCon south has been controlled by the Davidson Wildcats, thanks in large part to a guy named Stephen Curry, you might of heard of him. This year, with Curry gone, the division is up for grabs, with the Wildcats most likely having to battle it out with College of Charleston and The Citadel.

College of Charleston and Davidson are the two teams that look like they will fight for the title. College of Charleston beat Davidson last year on a last second block, on there way to a 27-9 record overall, with a 15-5 record in conference play, on there way to a berth in the CBI Tournament. College of Charleston returns three starters from last year that started every game. Davidson, as stated earlier, loses their leading scorer Curry, but should still be strong, led by senior Steve Rossiter, who stated every game last year, and should still manage to win 20 games this season. Two teams in the middle of the road are The Citadel and Wofford. The Citadel went 15-5 in the conference next year, and are led by junior Cameron Wells, who averaged 15.6 ppg last year. Wofford should improve from a 16-14 record last year, but only return two starters from last year, and face a tough out of conference schedule, as they face the likes of Pittsburgh, Georgia, Illinois, and Michigan State.

Two teams predicted to finish near the bottom of the division are Furman and Georgia Southern. Furman returns three starters from last year, but still, many experts predict them to finish with less than 10 wins overall. Georgia Southern will struggle to just to get to 10 wins, even though they have a team with a lot of seniors and a weak schedule out of conference. Overall, the fight for a bid in the NCAA Tournament bid should be a fun one.
