WUAG provides UNCG with a smörgåsbord of music for the masses

WUAG hosts numerous shows throughout the year while usually charging nothing. The following events are big, free shows which are close to UNCG for students' convenience.

Thursday, Nov. 20, Rafter and Workday/Schoolnight will be at The Gathering Spot on Tate Street (328 Tate Street) starting at 9 P.M. Rafter is an indie-pop band originated from San Diego, California. Rafter is made up of one person (Rafter Roberts) who recently released his new album Sweaty Magic which features plenty of upbeat and unpolished electronic melodies. Before the show, he will

be performing at WUAG's studio at 4:30 for those who are interested to hear what he sounds like. Also, Rafter will actually being DJing after the show for a dance party. Workday/Schoolnight is a solo project of Bart Trotman who actually used to be a DJ for WUAG. Trotman's solo music features ambient yet bizarre electronic snyth beats with very political lyrics. Workday/Schoolnight rarely plays live so this is a rare chance to see him in action. WUAG and WQFS will be presenting the King Khan & BBQ Show and the Hollow Stars at Square One (1400 Glenwood Avenue) at 9 P.M. The King Khan and BBQ Show is a Canadian garage rock duo featuring only vocals, guitars and drums. This two-man band can put on a nasty live show and bring their followers everything they desire. The King Khan and BBQ Show radiate energy while putting on a nasty live show and bringing their followers everything they desire. The Hollow Stars are from Atlanta, Georgia and are one tour with The King Khan and BBQ Show. They are also a garage rock group, but with a more indie aspect. The previous two shows are free, rare and close to campus. Those interested have no reason not to check out these events.
