Having conversations over the web has become easier and easier with internet resources that connect people many miles away through resources like Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Skype, and web cameras.

UNCG's speech language pathologist are connecting to students in the rural school districts such as Perquimans and Northampton counties in North Carolina through the support of a $67,000 grant from the United States Department of Education.

The students and their therapist conferences are all part of the second year TeleSpeech Therapy pilot program. In this program both students and their therapist, who are of the UNCG Speech and Hearing Program at Gateway University Research Park, conferences are videotaped by a camera, while the student is equipped with a television monitor to be able to see their therapist as they work. Along side of the students and therapist, a third party oversees the students while they participate in the program.

The Speech and Hearing Clinical Services has two locations, on UNCG's campus and the Speech and Hearing Program at Gateway University Research Park located at 5900 Summit Ave in Brown Summit.

The Speech and Haring Program includes the following services including hearing and balance, speech and language, support groups, and patient education.
