This week begins Fall Kick-off, the few days a year where UNCG competes with downtown Greensboro for the largest amount of panhandlers per square foot. As you're solicited by countless clubs, each competing for a bigger share of SGA money, consider these words:
Get paid for listening to music.

Ok, well, technically the pay is college credit, so: get paid with college credit by listening to music!

And I don't mean "college credit for listening to music" like how you think nobody notices you listening to your Ipod in class. Taking BCN 190: WUAG Practicum, means you can blast your music, and your voice, via radio waves to the 223,000 pairs of ears in our fair Gate City.

WUAG has been UNCG's campus radio since 1965, and today involves more students than any other campus media outlet. Unlike major radio stations, whose song selection is decided by 40-something suits or pop charts, WUAG is almost completely student-run. Since each semester brings new student DJs, WUAG's music selection is constantly changing to fit student selection. Such a varied staff of DJs allows our student radio to consistently bring the widest range of music types found on the dial. Jazz, indie, world music, electronic, and hip hop are just a few things you'll hear at any given time.

Aside from radio, WUAG also puts on music shows, almost always free to UNCG students. On Monday, August 29th WUAG is holding a free concert featuring Unwed Sailor, Cities, and Archer You Mistook Me. The show will take place at 8p.m. in the UNCG Faculty Center.
