Stoked with UNCG

As a departing international exchange student having spent the 2005 calendar year at UNCG, I can't help but feel the need to write a parting shot in response to last edition's article on UNCG's services. By the time y'all read this I will be back in New Zealand lapping up surf, sand and the southern hemisphere summer, but I hope the salience of these words will remain: I am stoked.
Throughout the duration of my exchange here UNCG has been nothing short of a fantastic host and an extraordinary exchange institution. No holds barred on the massive props! The fact that someone doesn't get that same warm fuzzy feeling when thinking back over their time here is lamentable, but I am confident it is a minority opinion. As a foreign student and an antipodean you come prepared to deal with a few upsets along the exchange journey, but dealing with it and sucking up a few hardships makes you a more well-rounded individual.
Specifically, I just have to defend the Caf staff who have always shown me courtesy and a forced smile, in spite of having spent eight hours plus on their feet serving us all. I wouldn't want to deal with all of our attitude all day long, but they do, and for that they get my respect and an apology on the behalf of those who can't see beyond themselves.
As for things like accommodation, traveling across continents and standing up for your rights, suffice to say I feel like I've been given a once-in-a-lifetime deal, and I will be leaving the U.S. and UNCG a very, VERY happy boy!
