Now moving into their fifth major album release, called Trapt Live!, the members of the alternative rock band Trapt have a lot to be, well, lively about.

Chris Brown, (lead), Simon Drmandy, (guitar), Phil Charell, (bass), and Aaron Montgomery, (drums) are fueled on the glory of their huge fan-base, and they prove that by doing a live album they can still maintain the intimacy of a studio album all while keeping the live audience captivated.

Just like their widely known single "Headstrong", first introduced on their self-titled record released in 2002, their newest single, "Stay Alive," is spreading like wildfire. And with good reason. From the opening riffs till the last remnant of Brown's belting lyrics fade out, the song is virtually flawless. Although the first two songs, "Stay Alive" and "Everything To Lose," are studio-recorded, the last nine songs are strictly recorded live.

Brown has a light, sometimes weightless voice, but can easily transform himself from vulnerable to a hard rock, just as in "Stillframe." The album constantly gains and loses momentum, which is great for the pace of the overall record, as with "Echo" and "Disconnected" in which the audience readily sings along. Though, as the songs slow down the lyrics get bad and morbidly cliché, but the music never ceases to amaze. Lyrics are Trapt's only downfall, but I suppose it varies depending on what you're accustomed to.

"Waiting" is a great close to the record as far as the new songs are concerned. The tempo is just at the right place where the lyrics don't crumble and the music is still attractive. One thing Brown does have is stamina. Your ears should never get bored. These guys have a serious love for their fans, and you can tell listening to the record. They engage in each other completely.

Just as most bands now-a-days, Trapt has a MySpace page where you can go on and listen to the songs from the current album as well as some previous. So go to www.myspace.com/trapt, and get your fill of their new live album entitled Trapt Live! Or just go their official site, www.trapt.com to download live videos and other band-related goodies.
