The UNCG women's soccer team continued its win streak in the SoCon after beating Chattanooga 4-1 and Georgia Southern 3-0.

Sophomore Kelly Attayek, senior captain Mary Kate Towne, and junior Heather Mitrisin each tallied a goal in the Spartans' 3-0 victory over Georgia Southern.

Mitrisin scored the first goal of the match and her first goal of the season off a corner kick that went flying right through the desperate hands of Georgia Southern's goalkeeper, Lauren Santos.

Towne lengthened the Spartans' lead to 2-0 when she knocked a cross from teammate Jen Bronson into the back of the net.

With less than 20 minutes left in the game, Attayek knocked in an insurance goal to give the Spartans the 3-0 victory. Senior Karla Davis fed Attayek the ball from 30 yards out, and Attayek blasted the ball into the goal from eight yards out.

The Spartans' goalkeeper Barrie Vogel tallied three saves on the night and recorded her second shutout.

"Georgia Southern provided an interesting challenge, but we knew that if we were patient we would wear them down and that's what we did," said head coach Eddie Radwanski in a UNCG Sports Information press release.

Only three minutes into the game Attayek sent a pass to Kristin Player, who promptly sent the ball home, giving the Spartans the 1-0 advantage.

The Lady Mocs evened the score at 1-1 when Chattanooga's Sara Francescon slipped a pass from teammate Jessica Dugger underneath Vogel.

The Spartans took the game back when Jenn Partenheimer sent a rebounded ball into the back of the Lady Mocs' goal.

The Player/Attayek duo met up again just five minutes after Partenheimer's goal. Attayek once again crossed the ball to Player, who fired the ball in for the 3-1 advantage.

With 11 minutes left in the game, the Spartans' Lauren Lopez scored the final goal off a free kick from 25 yards out, sealing the Spartans' 4-1 victory.

The Spartans take on the Davidson Wildcats on Sunday, Oct. 14 at 2:00 p.m.
