Typically we're used to seeing more leaves falling this time of year, but the season of fall has finally come and with it the prominent Halloween spirit. While some of us like to go all out for All Hallow's Eve, others take a more laid back approach to things. So whether you can't wait to make your Wednesday night drive to the legendary Franklin street in Chapel Hill, are checking out some of the downtown hot spots, or just want something nice and simple on campus, I'm here to keep you in the know about some of the Triad's happening Halloween howls.

For those on campus, luckily there are several ways to wake the dead that are extremely cost effective.

A nice kick off to Halloween is Trick or Treat at UNCG. The event is hosted by Students of Action and costumes are encouraged. The event will take place Oct. 30 on College Ave. from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

After collecting your candy, scramble your way on over to the Foust House. The Mary Foust tradition continues with their annual haunted house event. There is no cost and all you have to do is walk to the end of College Ave. to get there.

The freshman high- rise dorms are banning together to put on an event this season. At 7:00 p.m. on Halloween Reynolds, Grogan, and Cone residence halls will commune on the high-rise lawn to greet the evening spirits.

If you really want to get off campus and do something this week for the holiday, Greensboro and the Triad area have several different thrills to give you goose bumps. Among the most talked about is Woods of Terror on Church St. This year it has been ranked as one of America's best haunts. "[It] is full of the most interactive and innovative scares you will find anywhere," states America's Best Haunts. The country's best place to get the devil scared out of you will be open for this weekend through Nov. 3. For directions and prices check the website. www.woodsofterror.com. You can also look up other haunted trails and houses at www.hauntworld.com.

Safe journeys gals and ghouls. Dress to impress and don't forget to grab your garlic and stake before Wednesday night's departure. Happy Halloween!
