Do you love scary movies? Do you like that nervous anticipation of your heart "jumping" when something suddenly pops out at you? If so then do we have some ideas of places to visit for Halloween.

Of course you could always go visit Scary Foust located in Mary Foust residence hall or one of the other haunted attractions in the area, but if you are looking for something a little more authentic you could visit one of these "real" haunted locations. Of course we can't guarantee you'll see a ghost, but wouldn't it be cool if you did?

-Located in Wendell, N.C., the Morpheus Bridge is said to be haunted by a mother searching for her lost child. The story is that there was an accident on that bridge years ago and the mother and child were ejected from the car and died. It is said that if one idles their car on the bridge on Halloween, the car will shut off and the woman will appear in search of her child.

-The Mayo House of Tarboro isn't for those who are scared of dogs. Mr. Mayo apparently killed his family and then hanged himself. One who approaches the house at night will be chased by dogs and then will be invited into the house by the Mayo family. Once inside the house, one will see the rope dangling from the stair well. Then without any warning, the rope and family will disappear.

-The Devils Tramping Ground is located in the woods in Siler City. In the woods, there is a perfect circle where no grass grows. It's said that if you place anything inside that circle, it will be moved outside the circle by morning. They say the devil walks around the circle at night and moves everything placed inside to the outside of the circle.

-Close by in Raleigh is The Duke's House. This house was built in the 1920s for a wealthy tobacco executive. Once the site of fancy parties, it is now haunted. In 1927, a car carrying three young women and a driver ran off the Ashe Bridge and crashed onto the train tracks below. It is said that the driver was decapitated. The three women can still be seen on the Duke's porch waiting for him to answer the door while the driver wanders the tracks in search of his head.
