Stick to what you know

If there is one thing will make any particular group angry, it is an outsider who attempts to speak for them. This refers to the guest column in the Oct. 23 edition of The Carolinian, "So you don't like Greeks?" The author of that article is not Greek and therefore should not attempt to speak for Greeks on any topic.
As a Greek, I am not aware of any long-standing hatred between Greeks and musicians, and I find it highly ridiculous that any such thing has ever existed. I understand some people feel the need to speak their minds, but most people usually speak on things that they have at least a little insight into, and having a friend who is Greek does not count.
I personally have fraternity brothers who are musicians, and I'm pretty sure they don't hate themselves. Maybe the author of that article should get into a Greek organization and pass his hypothesis by some actual Greeks before he goes off running his mouth about things that he does not know. I as a Greek would like to personally say I love musicians and I love Greeks, and any combination of the two is okay with me.
