Spartan wrestling ahead of the Pack

Last Wednesday UNCG's wrestling team defeated N.C. State 23-17.
The Spartans' Mitchell Johnson started the night off with a win when he pinned Taylor Cummings in 2:57.
Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week Jeff Hedges followed in Johnson's footsteps when he defeated N.C. State's Darius Little 6-4.
The Pack began a rally when they took the next four matches.
UNCG's Ben Wilmore was defeated with a 17-2 technical fall.
The Pack's Darrion Caldwell overcame Marcus Hannah with a 1:43 fall victory.
Senior Mark Ring recorded a loss for the Spartans when he lost his bout 7-4.
Byron Sigmon tallied the last loss for UNCG when he fell 17-10 to Jalil Dozier.
The Spartans responded to the Pack's four wins with four of their own, which ultimately earned the Spartans the overall win.
Mikal McKee put the Spartans back on track with a 12-3 major decision over Ray Ward.
UNCG's Jeremy Cannon dominated Dane Coffee with a 10-1 major decision.
Daren Burns made UNCG history when he became the first Spartan to record 100 wins. Burns reached this milestone when he defeated Mark Jahad 1-0.
Ryan Hsu closed things out for the Spartans with a 5-2 decision over Bobby Isola.
On Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 7:00 p.m. the Spartans will honor its four seniors when they take on the Duke Blue Devils at Fleming Gym. On Saturday, Feb. 23 at 1:00 p.m. the Spartans will hit the road to take on Chattanooga.
