Spartan wrestlers bring home three SoCon championship titles

At the 2008 Southern Conference Wrestling Championship the Spartans collected three championship titles and six top four finishers. The Spartans finished in third place and tallied a total of 71.5 points.
The Spartans' Jeff Hedges, Daren Burns, and Byron Sigmon were the champions of their respective weight classes and earned automatic bids to the NCAA tournament.
Hedges and Burns were both listed as 14th in the nation in the USA Today/InterMat/NWCA Division I Pre-NCAA Tournament Coaches Poll.
Sigmon, a redshirt freshman, will be participating in his first national tournament.
Marcus Hannah and Mark Ring placed third and Ben Wilmore, Mikal McKee, and Jeremy Cannon finished in fourth place.
Ryan Hsu made it all the way to the final round where he was defeated by VMI's Josh Wine.
The 2008 NCAA Wrestling Tournament will take place March 20-22 in St. Louis, MO.
