Men’s Tennis starts season with Fall Invitational

  Junior Orcun Seyrek and Freshman Chanon Varapongsittikul won flight titles this past weekend at the UNCG Men’s Tennis Fall Invitational. The Spartans opened the season with the invitational, which hosted student-athletes from Belmont, Chattanooga, UNCA, Elon, Garner-Webb, Tennessee Tech, The Citadel and Kennesaw State.

Men split at Richmond Tournament

Team moves to 2-2 on the year after weekend at Elon

  The UNCG Men’s Soccer team (2-2) went 1-1 this weekend at the Richmond Tournament hosted by Elon University.  The Spartans fell 2-1 to Jacksonville (3-1) on Friday night and defeated Richmond 2-0 on Sunday.  After coming back from their longest road trip in 18 years to Creighton, the Spartans took a smaller trip to Elon University to face the Jacksonville Dolphins.

  Tuesday, the Office of Multicultural Affairs held a Contemporary Issues Forum titled “Tiger Woods, Caster Semenya and Dennis Rodman: Representations of Race, Gender and Sexuality in Sports Culture”. The discussion was led by Professor Michael D.

UNCG bounces back from first loss with home win

  The UNCG Women’s soccer team returned to action Friday night with a 2-1 victory over the Charlotte 49ers at UNCG Soccer Stadium. The Spartans were coming into the game looking to bounce back from a 2-0 loss to Cal State Fullerton last Sunday, their first loss of the young season.

Volleyball wins 1 of 3 in Tennessee

Spartans get win against UNC Asheville, drop two at tournament

  The UNCG volleyball team traveled out to Johnson City, Tennessee this past weekend to compete in the Buccaneer Classic . The Spartans came away with a victory over UNC Asheville and defeats to East Tennessee State and Austin Peay. The Spartans opened the tournament with a matchup against a fellow North Carolina team in the Bulldogs of Asheville.
